For any truly American car aficionado, Ford Mustang was, is and will be an icon with which there is no jokes.
During the last decades Ford brought a lot of high performance models and versions of the great Mustang, including the Cobra, Bullitt and Mach 1. Once a cheap and affordable sports car become a flagship of the Ford Motor Corporation and take the big piece of the upscale sports car market in USA.
One of the original factory tuned, high performance Mustang is Boss 302. First time produced in 1969, Ford Mustang Boss 302 was the real example of what sports cars need to look, sound, act and preform.
Ford Mustang Boss 302 become one of the modern American icons in 1970, after winning the Trans-Am championship in the same year.

New 2012 Mustang BOSS 302 is a modern sports car with 5.0-liter Ford V-8 302 cubic inch engine. The engine is rebuilt and tuned to produce 444 bhp at 7400 rpm and 380 lb.-ft. of torque at 4500 rpm.
I can write pages of technical data and list of the equipment this car posses but my personal opinion is that this is unproductive and sterile approach to explain this car.. The BOSS 302 is not a list of car parts or equipment. By my opinion Boss 302 is not the last technology inside, but it is the philosophy and car architecture which is understandable after the first look.

It is almost impossible to understand this car without feeling the engine vibrations, without hearing the sound and steering the wheel. Even as a passenger the joy of riding in this new 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is one of the best experiences in the life.

New Audi R8 GT V10 Review, Test, Price, Engine

As if the regular Audi R8 with a V10 engine wasn’t enough, Audi is bringing even more powerful, exclusive, stripped down version of R8 with a full name Audi R8 GT. The new bolder Audi R8 is also faster than any of the previous versions.

The limited production Audi R8 GT features the same excellent 5.2-liter V-10 engine but the power has been boosted to a stellar 412kW (560hp); the car has been put on a noticeable diet and has lost about 100kg (220lb). As a result the performance numbers are more than rewarding, Audi R8 GT goes from 0-100km/h (62mph) in just 3.6 seconds and reaches top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).

The R8 name is very renowned in the auto industry. Both production models Audi R8 (V8) and Audi R8 (V10) have already won prestigious award, “World Performance car”, awarded in 2008(V8) and 2010(V10). At the other hand, the race car Audi R8 LMS won 23 races in its first season and claimed three championships. Total of 333 Audi R8 GTs will be made, each with a production number written on a shift stick.

Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro is using well known Audi Space Frame technology known for excellent rigidity and low weight. The whole body weighs only 210 kilograms (462 lb). Aluminum is widely used in the vehicle and the engine is largely made of ultra lightweight magnesium keeping the weight center as close to the ground. Most of the ASF body is built by hand, and only the finest Audi engineering experts are allowed to work on Audi R8 manufacturing process. They all have more than 20 years of firsthand experience in their field. Everything is controlled by a dozens of supercomputers, taking care that everything is according to the strict specifications.

The final weight of R8 5.2 FSI Quattro is only 1,625 kg (3,582lb). But the new AudiR8 GT model needed even more weight savings. They set their goal at 1,525 kg (3,362 lb) and working on a small scale they have managed to succeed and have matched that desired weight.

The windshield of R8 GT is made of thinner glass; special stronger lightweight materials are used in the engine area and around the cockpit cutting the weight kilogram by kilogram. They shaved every possible gram of weight from power brake system, aluminium caps of the brake discs and the battery. Air intake module has been modified and lost more than 2.5 kilograms (5. 5 lb).

Cockpit has also been a subject of change, and with some smart ideas and detailed planning, the Audi R8 GT has lost more than 31.5 kilograms (70lb) only from the interior space.

Speaking about technical specifications, Audi R8 GT measures 4.43 meters (14.53 ft) long, 1.93 meters (6.33 ft) wide and only 1.23 meters (4,04 ft) high. It produces even more downforce than the regular R8 without an increase in Cd value (0.36) or frontal area (1.99m2).
Audi R8 GT is using LED (light-emitting diodes) headlights, producing homogenous light at every weather and light conditions. They have a long service life, low energy requirements and are especially good looking. Successfully used in Audi marketing campaigns, they are now being widely used in auto world. 19” special alloy wheels are coming as a standard with an Audi R8 GT.

You can choose from four colors including: Samoa Orange metallic, Suzuka Gray metallic, Ice Silver metallic and Phantom Black pearl effect, all designed solely for the R8 GT.

The price in Germany is expected to climb to 193,000 Euro. We can say this is a price tag that definitely matches this ultimate race car aimed to streets and mortals demanding ultra high performance while not sacrificing total comfort.

New Porsche 911 GT3 RS

The most extreme road version of the Porsche 911 model is the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS…
Porsche 911 GT3 RS is even more powerful, lowered by a higher margin; gearbox is optimized with shorter transmission ratios and of course features numerous body and suspension enhancements according to highest and latest quality standards in the auto industry.

This car will provide the basis on which the racing version of 911 GT3 will be built later this year. Because of this, it offers more character, speed and extreme than any of the previous 911 model versions.

The engine is not 3.8 liters instead of 3.6 and produces more power and revs faster and the car feels more agile and stronger. Power boost will be 15 hp more than the basic 911 GT3, which translated into numbers is 450 horsepower from the naturally aspirated high-revving engine. Natural aspirated engine technology is brought to the limit with this engine; it produces roughly 118 horsepower per liter, and in the same time the power unit stays perfectly usable and comfortable for driving on busy city streets and on a highway.

The buyers will be able to get Porsche 911 GT3 RS exclusively with six-speed manual gearbox, with shortened ratios, low weight, superior materials combined with high efficiency. To improve already excellent road and track performance, for the first time PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) suspension is used and set up with special parameter set. The track is wider on both axles. The front axle comes with nine-inch-wide wheels running on 245/35 ZR 19 sports tires, the rear axle features twelve-inch-wide wheels incorporating 325/30 ZR 19
sports tires.

The dynamic engine mounts used as standard in 911 GT3 RS has a role of improving car’s dynamics to even higher level and it seems this is the limit when it comes to road performance and agility. Depending on the driving and road conditions, the mounts change their stiffness and damping effect, improving the connection between the engine and the body of the car when driving in extreme conditions. Downforce is greater, further improving race track performance. Lithium-ion battery will be an option as a replacement for a standard accumulator battery, reducing the weight for another 10kg or 22lb.

It is clear that this model is for drivers with lots of experience in daily driving and modest race track background. Its roots in motorsports are clear and further accented with details like: low ride height, the newly developed huge rear carbon-fiber wing with some parts made of aluminum, powerful and shiny dual tailpipes on the exhaust from the extra light and durable titanium, as well as numerous exterior details specially designed and tailored for the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Sales are starting in Germany with the start of 2010. The European base price will be Euro 122.400 without taxes and other expenses.
