From Kia Motors comes the first electric vehicle form Korea. It comes with the launch of the new Kia Ray EV. This is a new zero-emissions city car with lively performance and it spouse to have 139 km (86 miles) on a single charge. Kia GT is a new rear-wheel drive concept.

After the recent leak form Kia about the GT concept, Kia decided to go out with some more details.
Form the looks of the car we can see Kia’s new styling direction. The car futures a unique front fascia, copper window trim and unique front fascia. For some other design futures there are the rear diffuser, rear-hinged doors and propeller-style carbon fiber / alloy wheels.

This week we have some amazing news from Kia. They just went out with the price for the 2012 Rio 5-door model and the tag will be placed at just $13.600, and adding an extra $750 for destination fee. For such low price you can get a car with automatic start/stop system made to reduce fuel consumption. From Kia they say that this is the first time that this high end technology is used outside form the hybrid and luxury segments in the US.

The car will be powered by the 1.6-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine form Kia, and will give 138 horsepower while maintaining EPA rated 31 miles per gallon city and 40 mpg highway.

Electric Power concept Venga EB is using electric motor with 80 kW and 280 Nm of torque, which allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 11.8 seconds and reach top speed to 140 km/h. This electric motor is using full power lithium-ion polymer batteries with a capacity of 24 kWh who drive the car to 180 km with one charge.

Kia Venga EV Concept:

With rapid charging the battery with power of 50 kW can be charged for only 20 minutes, while using the standard house power network the li-ion polymer batteries can be fully recharged in eight hours. The batteries in Kia Venga EB are located under the luggage, while the electric motor is stored in the front end of the car along with ordinary internal combustion engine.

Kia Motors, who have become renowned for their innovative concept cars, have announced they will be revealing their all-new electric concept car; the Kia Pop.

Although the Korean firm are being remarkably quiet about the exact details of their new machine, which will be displayed at the Paris Motor Show on the 30th September, a few details have been released.

The offical details released by Kia are minimal to say the least, but they highlight some pertinent facts. The car produces zero emissions while in use, as it’s electric only, making it one of the most environmentally sound concept cars ever produced. It also has enough room for three people, despite being only three metres long. Whilst this may be hard to picture looking at it, the overhead shot reveals more about the incredible styling and use of space inside the car:

The styling of the cars’ exterior is also very unique, and could form the basis of one of Kia’s next City cars.

Although the car is only a concept, Kia have built an excellent reputation for putting their previous concept cars into production (see the Soul or the Venga for good examples of this), meaning we could well see this car, or at least the majority of its’ features, on a future Kia model.

Unfortunately that’s about all the information available on Kia’s latest concept model, but we’ll bring you details of the car once it has been properly revealed at the Paris Motor Show.
