Few have seen the amazing success of the Renault’s engines. Form all the teams that provide the engines for the Formula One Renault’s engines are one of the best and most heard of. When the Formula One team from France stops its own appearances in the seasons of 2005 and 2006 they continued living on the tracks with their engines as a supplier to independent team.

For the next year they will power Williams once again and also their most successful partnership with Red Bull Racing will be continued. The hot hatch is an iconic paradigm of motoring history, combining looks practically and speed in one affordable package, pocket rockets have been hugely popular since the introduction of the Renault 5 turbo and VW Golf GTi in the earlt 1980’s. Renault Dauphine (A French term for a Crown Princess) was the first French car which was produced in more than 2 million copies. The production was first organized in France and then in a few more production plants worldwide. Renault dauphine rolls from the assembly lines almost 11 years, from 1956 to 1967.

Renault dauphine was a small, four doors, sedan and the engine was placed in the rear of the car. Except the basic model there was another two versions of Renault Dauphine. The first one was sporty model Gordini and the second variant was luxury version with separate brand name Renault Ondine. For the European and American market there was another variant, the convertible two door variant Renault Caravelle/Floride.

The engine in the basic model was Ventoux with displacement of 845cc and 32 hp. With this engine Renault Dauphine, from 0 to 60 miles per hour (0 to 100km), accelerated for 32 seconds which was miserable even in 1956.

Renault Dauphine had the following interior equipment: white steering wheel, two lamps, rear bypassing windows, front luggage compartment and the most interesting a two horns, one for the city and one for the country use.

The sport version of Renault Dauphine was Gordini, named by the famous Renault performance engineer Amedee Gordini. He managed to tune up the engine to 37 hp, but this was a limited success so another limited edition of 2140 Renault Dauphines was made under the name/number 1093. Renault Dauphine 1093 engine was tuned to 55 hp and with this power had a top speed of 87 mph or 140 km/h. This engine also featured twin barrel carburetor. Dauphine Gordini also had tachometer, rear track rods, 4 speed manual transmission and was available only in white color with two blue stripes.

Oh the Yugo! Many would swear by this 1,800-pound car because of its decent gas mileage, small size, and cheap price. Well, you get what you pay for, and this little baby earned a terrible reputation when it was blown off of Michigan’s Mackinac Bridge in 1989, killing a 31-year old woman. Apparently it was extremely windy that day, and the woman panicked, and stopped her car on the bridge; this lack of downward force supplied by forward motion was all the airstream needed to toss that Yugo over the edge.

There is so much to say about the most recent failures of the car industry. We can’t tar and feather Toyota right away, every company has severe car problems, but they just happened to get caught, and at a terrible time. That’s not to say that their safety issues are something you can brush off and forget about. New 2010 Renault Fluence review, price, test, engines

Instead of new Megane 3 sedan, Renault‘s offer for the C segment in the sedan class is a new Renault Fluence. This new/old concept is made in Renault assembly line in Turkey where also Megan 2 is build.

Renault Fluence is following the philosophy of Dacia Logan. It is going to be produced in the country with a low labor cost like Turkey and it is going to be offered on the emerging markets like Turkey, Russia, Romania, but also Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria and some other countries in the Balkan area and South Eastern Europe. Renault Fluence will also be offered in Israel too. In the next step of sales strategy the Renault Fluence is going to be offered in some other car markets which are not part of the European Continent. Renault Fluence is not only to be one of the cheapest cars in the segment but also the cost of exploitation and cost of ownership is going to be the lowest in the class. The only problem in this Renault effort can be the network of the dealerships in this region which not always are reliable and don’t follow the philosophy of the main headquarters. With this model Renault will offer to more mature customers a combination of the family and business vehicle which can be a real competition to the cars who aim to the family and business segment.

Renault Fluence is a relatively large car and it is between C and D segment. With this car Renault likes to bring a more space for the passengers in the relatively small package. Renault Announces Europe’s First Front Swivel Seat for New Clio
