A British supercar manufacturer hopes to break world records by producing a vehicle that can reach staggering speeds of more than 340 mph.
This breakneck speed is some 140 mph faster than the maximum speed the Lamborghini Gallardo we let is capable of reaching on a clear, open road.
Manufacturers Keating Supercars, based in Manchester, last month unveiled a prototype version of its latest model which has aptly been named The Bolt.
And at the beginning of October, Keating hopes to set a world record for a production car by taking a heavily tuned version of The Bolt to speeds in excess of 340 mph.
It’s not the first time that the manufacturer has created a car that is able to reach such crazy speeds. Previously Keating’s TKR, which used a 1750bhp twin-turbo charged engine from Nelson Racing Engines, is reputed to have hit 260.1mph at El Mirage in the United States. Now that’s a supercar experience we’d all like to witness.
The Bolt is powered by a 7.0-litre LS7 V8 which transmits its power to the rear wheels via a six-speed transaxle. Other notable performance-orientated features include coilover suspension and large ventilated disc brakes all round.
It’s with regret that we don’t have any plans to rent out The Bolt for a Supercar Experience anytime in the near future. In fact, we are not sure our insurance would ever cover this record-breaking car.
But for those of you who wish to experience the thrill of going ultra-fast in a supercar, why not look at our range of Lamborghinis for hire.
The Lamborghini Gallardo can easily reach speeds of up to 196 mph, with the Superleggera model being able to reach a maximum speed of 201 mph.
