Are you ready for the third generation Beetle Convertible? After the great success with the original Beetle Convertible in 1945, and the second generation designed and produced in 2002 comes the third generation VW Beetle convertible- the 2013 model. More than 330.000 examples from the original Beetle Convertible were produced. Its design can be still felt in the 2013 model. However, certain improvements that contribute to the sporty spirit of the vehicle such as air inlet, the flat bottom edge of the hood and the tail lights can be easily recognized. The round headlights of the original beetle are still present. The new Beetle Convertible offers modernity mixed with tradition.
The traditional soft top is part of the 2013 Beetle Convertible. It goes up and down in just 10 seconds. There is a soft-top cover used when the top is down. The other traditional features that also remind us of the original beetle are the compact instrument panel with large instrument cluster and the glove box.
The Volkswagen Beetle 2013 is a 4-seat vehicle with spacious interior. The trunk provides 225 liters space and it can be carefully folded for transporting bigger items.
There is an active rollover protection system which consists of two extendable volumes fitted in the rear bench seat. They will be activated together with the front and head-thorax airbags in case the car rolls over.
Seven types of engines are available for the 2013 Beetle Convertible. One is the 1.2 L TFSI which guarantees high fuel efficiency and 77kW of power. Other gasoline engines are 1.4L TSI with estimated power of 118kW and the 2.0l with 147kW. The diesel engines are the 1.6L TDI and 2.0TDI.
