During the Bonneville Speed Week Skoda Octavia vRS (highly-modified Octavia) went to the Bonneville Salt Flats and reach an incredible top speed of 202.15 mph or 325.33 km/h.

All the engineers from the UK team of Skoda in association with the partners at REVO Technik made the VW Group’s 2.0 liter TSI engine to produce 500 bhp (373 kW / 507 PS) so they can accomplish this goal. There was some controversy about the earlier annulment that the car will produce between 550-600 PS (405-441 kW / 542-592 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque using high-octane petrol and 26 to 28 PSI of boost. Audi R8 GT driven by Emanuele Pirro

The famous Audi driver Emanuele Pirro has been with Audi for the last 17 years and it’s really safe to say that he knows how to go around the Quattro-equipped iron. Pirro had the chance and the pleasure to get all the latest pearls from Audi and put them to their pastes on the Quattro-equipped iron for the last 17 years. He also won three LeMans behind the wheel on an Audi.
In this four videos produced by the Audi social media team for the U.S., Pirro talks in details about the 2011 Audi R8 GT that is produced in limited numbers. He starts to talk about the 560-horsepower of the V10-motivated 3.6 second 0-60 time engine and he explains why everyone should have and R8 GT. In the mile long list are also the carbon fiber spoiler and front splitter, and that this cat is 180 pounds lighter than the regular car.

Toyota Prius Plug-in debut at Frankfurt Motor Show


Everyone was watching for this news. At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in the middle of September production version of the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will make its debut.
Toyota has announced that the Prius Plug-in is the “major milestone” in the electric segment in the 40-year quest for truly sustainable mobility (just like the RAV4 EV?). The plug-in hybrid sedan will have all new designed lithium-ion batteries that will be more compact and enable the new Prius to make an amazing fuel consumption of 2.2 liters for 100 kilometers of 107 miles per gallon in the U.S. while giving out only 49g of CO2 for one kilometer.

Electric Chevy Camaro does quarter mile in 10.08s



Ron Adamwicz’s electric 1981 Chevrolet Camaro at Palm Beach International Raceonway went a quarter-mile track in just 11.253s. In addition to this the electrified Camaro called “Warp Factor II” on its record-setting quarter-mile run set a new world record with 6.8-second eighth-mile run at 93.43 miles per hour. And the most interesting part is that those records were set with only one of the Camaro’s two electric motors. Continue reading

Тerrible collision on a Russian highway

This is taken on the Krasavinsky bridge (over the Kama River) just before the end of it where a motorist and a passenger had an engine failure and they end up strained between the fast traffic. The driver decides to open the hood and make some reappears instead of pushing the vehicle at the side for safety.

If you look closer you can see a humane figure moving in the background behind the opened hood. And then if happens the inevitable. Another car slams in the rear of the vehicle with no brakes applied and smashes the unaware motorist that is looking under the hood.

By real luck the driver of the stalled car is not killed and you can see him slowly moving and standing up in the end. He stays on the ground because his leg is broken. The other passenger slowly raises and goes to see if the driver is ok. Continue reading
