Electric Chevy Camaro does quarter mile in 10.08s

Ron Adamwicz’s electric 1981 Chevrolet Camaro at Palm Beach International Raceonway went a quarter-mile track in just 11.253s. In addition to this the electrified Camaro called “Warp Factor II” on its record-setting quarter-mile run set a new world record with 6.8-second eighth-mile run at 93.43 miles per hour. And the most interesting part is that those records were set with only one of the Camaro’s two electric motors.

The other run was with the two operational motors and was on August 6 at Lebanon Valley Dragway where the Team Haiyin EV Racing Chevy Camaro droved the quarter-mile in 10.08 seconds, with a top speed of 127 mph. These time puts the Camaro in same category with the Black Current and the converted Volkswagen Beetle that holds the world record for “street bodied” electric vehicles.
