The long time leaders of the luxury sedan class, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus, and they all had a flagship model five years ago. The 7-Series, the S-Class and the LS, and all of them with a 82% of the US market and 30% of that was claimed by Mercedes-Benz.

Now there is the Audi A8 with 5% market growth, and the Jaguar XJ with 12%. These two models had next to none market share but now they own so much.
There’s the Audi A8, up 5% and the Jaguar XJ, up 12%. Both of these models could claim next to nothing of the market when they were launched but now look at them.

The luxury sedan with the biggest growth in two years is the Porsche Panamera with 14% market share. And all of these is made in the territory of the “Big Three” companies which can brag with the biggest and best reputation, seals network and loyalty.
