With spring time well on its way, the sunny weather on Sunday will be a regular thing. No need to think weather you should use the weather to go outside and breath fresh air. Since you have a bicycle in the garage, all the possibilities to breath the expensive air outside the town are complete.

Since sunny weather is at hand, having a pair of prescription sunglasses on your head is definitely the right choice. If you own designer glasses or cheap glasses, bring them along too. Their general purpose still remains improved sight. Bicycle riding out of town means pedaling through the landscape on a road without asphalt; thousands of small rocks and debris will go under the bicycle tire. Having a sharp sight at all times reduces the danger of hitting a slightly big rock or debris capable of knocking you of the bicycle. Safety comes first, and safety must have sharp eye sight in order to be affective. Continue reading

Since their numbers glasses in the market increase all the time, at some point it is normal for their price to go down a little bit, sometimes even too low. The contrary also occurs; the “real deal” glasses – designer glasses, prescription sunglasses, reglaze glasses and etc. – tend to be valued even more than usual. Continue reading

5 Innovations from Mercedes

The luxury car-manufacturer has long been known as one of the most innovative in the market when it comes to pioneering technology meant to improve the overall driving experience.  And their latest offerings are nothing to sniff at.  The upcoming installments for your next Mercedes Benz purchase could include amenities that make navigation, bumper-to-bumper traffic, and rough roadways slightly more bearable.  So whether you’re looking for a vehicle that will get you through morning gridlock or simply one that will give you the smoothest trip down the highway of life, then perhaps you’ll want to check out some of the innovative solutions that are coming out of MB.

1.  Traffic Jam Assist System.  This nifty feature will have commuters everywhere rushing to their nearest Mercedes Benz dealer.  It’s the latest in a push by manufacturers to enter the realm of the future with a self-driving vehicle.  A couple of years ago, we all marveled at the car that could parallel park with no driver assistance, using cameras and sensors to navigate around parked cars and curbs alike.  These days, the specially equipped S-Class test vehicle makes driving in a traffic jam more like taking a cruise.  Sensors track the vehicle in front of you (up to 50 meters away and 25 mph) as well as the lines on the road to keep you within 20 feet of the car in front of you and in your lane at all times, with little to no assistance from you.  In fact, you can even have your hands off the wheel entirely for up to eleven seconds, although merely keeping the palm of your hand on the wheel (with no adjusting) will keep the system active.

2.  Virtual Highway.  You won’t see this technology in the new production line, but it will affect your ride.  It’s actually an in-house system for fine-tuning suspension and it works by taking data collected from sensors in real-world situations (a road disfigured by pot-holes, for example) and transmitting it to both a projector and a hydraulic platform fitted with car seats.  Technicians then make adjustments to the suspension based on what they feel throughout playback, making your ride smoother, virtually. How To Avoid Your Van Being Nicked

Simple answer seems to be, buy the right kind. One that doesn’t appeal to the miscreant’s sense of style. Then look at all the other gizmos like alarms, immobilisers etc. But if you buy, lease or hire what the villains’ consider “too naff to nick” that’s probably the first most important step.

Secure your van:
Secure your van

Figures from the Association of Chief Police Officers Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (AVCIS) show that 40% of British van or car drivers have been the victims of motor crime. That’s especially important for many van drivers as their vehicles are likely to contain valuable tools and equipment as well as whatever intrinsic appeal the van itself has to the thief. With cars, it’s likely that older models are attractive to teenage joy riders, because they are easier to steal! It’s also not that cool to be seen joyriding in a van (a beat up Marina is OK and a Beamer preferable of course). What that means is that theft of or from a van is likelier to be a “professional crime” after equipment or cargo. Whatever security features like alarms or immobiliser you may have in place, a brick through the window does the job!

Car Insurance Fraud Tricks: Don’t Be a Victim

Protecting yourself on the road can often mean more than just driving safely. You might need to drive defensively. This means you are taking care and trying to predict what other drivers will do. You never can be too sure. There are some people out there on the road who are trying to get into a crash, to claim on your car insurance. Here is a look at these types of scams and fraud. Be wary of them, and don’t get taken for a ride.

  • The T-Bone. Car A waits at an intersection. Car B, stops at the stop sign, and then goes to cross the intersection. Car A then speed across the intersection into Car B. There will be witnesses waiting at the junction (who are actually friends of Car A). They will say that Car B did not stop at the stop sign, and put the blame on Car B.
  • Blind Spot Wave. Similar to the T-Bone, where two roads converge. We know that one car is to give way. Let’s say Car B was to give way, so Car A speeds into Car B. Again witnesses are actually friends of Car A. The situation will look like Car B did not give way, and therefore, at fault.
  • Round-a-bout Side Swipe. In this case, one car will side swipe another car as they go around a round-a-bout. They will prey on a car that is close to the painted lines and then quickly pull their car back into their lane. They will then state the other car came into their lane and crashed into them.
