2010 Dodge Nitro personal review engine and info
May 1, 2010 – 4:03 amDodge Nitro seems to have modern and aggressive styling in a small package so the owner can make an impression with, but also it is not going to have a problem on the parking lots like the owners of the competition SUVs. It is going to be offered only in two trim packages, SXT and the SLT, because the R/T package is not going to be produced at all. The towing capacity of 5,000 pounds also brings some positive points and also a highly functional cargo space. For me the Dodge Nitro interior materials quality is a major turn off, because the competitors SUV-s are much better.
The Dodge Nitro V6 engine is another positive point, but the fuel economy is much worse than other SUV in the same class. If you are on the market to buy an SUV you might thing about Ford Escape and Honda Element. If you are not in hurry or you do not need that much strength but modest off road capabilities without any towing power you can wait for the new arrivals in America for the cheap but capable and fun SUV Dacia Duster.
The differences between Dodge Nitro 2010 and 2009 model are very small so if you insist on buying a Dodge Nitro, you might consider the option of buying a 2009 model. It is much cheaper and you might save big. The Dodge dealers are cleaning their lots from the 2009 models and they are making space for the new 2010 models so you can have a real bargain.
