The Most Popular Cars among Golfers!
April 23, 2010 – 2:38 amEveryone knows that Golf is a real gentleman’s sport, something that we all indulge in when we are fed up with our business meetings for the day. Some of us even have our meetings during a good ole’ swing a golf, especially if your out with some mates on Golf holidays!
Something else to remember is that as golfers we like our cars and you will generally find an array of suave cars parked out in the car park. At a golf course I used to visit I found people even trading in there cars for something more “flashy” so that they could pull up next to one of his rivals, as if to say “Why I say old boy’ check out my Pork Sword”! This masculinity is quite apparent everywhere on the golf course, and of course ladies you are welcome as well, and also regularly appear on the course.
Which car is it then that really strike a cord with our golfers? In no particular order (because each will have their favourite) here a few that you can all appreciate!
First up is the Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe (of course), ooooh that name even sends shivers down your spine! This beast is the true Businessman / Golfers is the pinnacle of golf car park heaven. Pulling up alongside a Mercedes or a BMW with this monsters 6.75 litre engine and it’s whopping 5 metres in length is enough to make any other car shudder and even bring to tears. You might find that making your golf playing standards attempt to match up with this cars beastly glory be quite a challenge, but it doesn’t matter if you lose, because you can go back to your car make everyone else feel small!
Second on this list of “I AM BETTER THAN YOU”, is the Bentley Continental Flying Spur! Just as long as the Phantom, this car looks much more elegant and not quite so “Am I in your face enough yet”. This lumbering yet relatively speedy 6 litre is capable of reaching 200mph but isn’t recommended, especially in the golfers car park. It doesn’t seem all that imposing but does generate quite a roar with the twin turbo firing away. Of course it also has a ridiculously huge boot, great for your golf clubs or the bodies of your rivals!
I would like to give you more than three cars but I think that these guys are the top cojones so the final car I bring to you is the Jaguar XJ. There would be no point in any of the Golf Car Parks around the world if one of these cars wasn’t in them! Probably the best looking out of all these cars the 2009 model has 5 litre V8 engine and is definitely going to attract some attention. Much flashier than the others and more realistically the “younger” “older” mans car, this is definitely something to go to a golf game in, and then open the door for your sexy wife as well!
