  1. I owned a VW beetle and many friends had the bus. I must agree that the two observations noted in this article are absolutely correct. I froze every winter and at the time could not understand why. The issue with the bus was well known to us at the time, though as a positive there was not as much speed on the road and the numbers of cars were well down on today’s chaotic road system. This meant less challenges when driving a less than perfect design.
