Rolls-Royce 200EX review, photo gallery and video

Rolls-Royce 200EX is the latest experimental vehicle from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. It is based on the latest design course we know from Rolls-Royce. It is elegant, modern and bold in the same time, featuring four doors for easy entry. It is perfect example what one super luxurious limousine should look like and it certainly is the king on the road.

Experimental models was always important in the history of the company, from the first one, 1EX, that was finished in the 1919, to the most recent one, 101EX, that was build in 2006.

But something other is very interesting for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. When they build a concept cart, they are always completely ready for a production and ready to hit the market. EX models offers designers and engineers great help and close touch to how technology would behave in the real-world scenarios. Unique machinery components are being tested in a real car, newly developed materials made from exotic wood and expensive leather are used in this concept models. “Modern automotive engineering is a balance of creativity, innovation and application. 200EX is an opportunity to assess these new ideas,” explains Helmut Riedl, Director of Engineering.

100EX is also important concept model, keeping in mind that it was the first experimental vehicle that was released under BMW Group. Two-door, four seat convertible, shown at 2004 Geneva Motor Show, was prepared especially for the 100th anniversary of Rolls-Royce motor car design and engineering. Immediately after, 100EX followed, in a shape of modern and strong coupe. Both this experimental models were used as an inspiration for several other cars that were produced in limited series. They also redefined some aspects of the luxury motoring…

Following the trend the same group of experts created 200EX, that will announce the new RR4 in 2010. The role is the same, to deliver ultimate in a car, uniqueness, ultimate power on a tip of a finger.

“Alluring, inviting, approachable – this car captivates with each encounter” – says Chief Designer, Ian Cameron. “200EX is a touring saloon with more than a little panache and perhaps more bravado than one might have expected from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars,” says Cameron. “What you see is a modern car that is immediately recognisable as a true Rolls-Royce, even from angles that obscure the grille and Spirit of Ecstasy. Design elements such as the elevated prow, long bonnet, short front overhang, sharply raked A-pillar and elegant tail give 200EX an air of informal presence – powerful but unobtrusive.”

About the specifications, you can expect everything to be super large and strong:
